Rehabilitation and Residential Care Services

Objectives

To provide spiritual care services for incarcerated and rehabilitated individuals, supporting their personal growth and self-care throughout their journey of transformation and learning. The programme aims to cultivate positive life values and attitudes, fostering their successful reintegration into the community.

To offer spiritual wellness activities and calming experiences for frontline staff from partner organizations involved in rehabilitation and residential care services.


(1) “Cultivate Virtue ‧Shape Character” Training Activities

Through training activities offered by The Ethics College, young people gain opportunities to learn new perspectives to deal with emotions and afflictions, and prepare for their future lives.

Partner Institution: Pak Sha Wan Correctional Institution, Lo Wu Correctional Institution, Pik Uk Prison

Total sessions: 12

(2) “Rehabilitation ‧ Renewal” Spiritual Care Workshop

These workshops provide rehabilitation, community education, and crime prevention services for individuals who are formerly incarcerated, recently released, or suspected of legal violations. The spiritual care workshops support participants in cultivating inner peace and emotional resilience.

Target: Rehabilitated individuals and their families

Partner Organization: The Society of Rehabilitation and Crime Prevention, Hong Kong

Total workshops: 6

(3) Body-Mind-Spirit Support Group for Rehabilitated Persons

Through themed group sessions, rehabilitated individuals in dormitories are encouraged to pay attention to positive aspects of life and receive spiritual care that nurtures the body, mind, and spiritual well-being. Volunteers also join in festive celebrations to foster connections and support.

Target: Dorm-based rehabilitated individuals

Partner Organization: The Society of Rehabilitation and Crime Prevention, Hong Kong

Total sessions: 8

(4) “Together in Holistic Wellbeing”

This programme offers spiritual care and wellness activities for youth aged 12 to 16.

Target: Members of The Hong Kong Juvenile Care Centre

Partner Organization: The Hong Kong Juvenile Care Centre (2021–2024)

Activities:

  • Youth residential care activities,
  • Mindfulness art workshops
  • “Embracing Mindfulness ‧Compassionate toward Self” course

(5) “Expressing Emotions Through Art”

Designed for youth aged 12 to 16, this programme uses creative expression and spiritual care to support emotional wellbeing and self-understanding.

Target: Members of the Sisters of the Good Shepherd - Marycove Centre

Partner Organization:  Sisters of the Good Shepherd - Marycove Centre(2021–2023)

Activities:

  • Youth residential care support,
  • Mindfulness art workshops,
  • Sisters of the Good Shepherd: Experiential Art Workshop,
  • Sisters of the Good Shepherd: Community Outreach campaign
  • Marycove Teen Support Fair
