Volunteer Training & Developing

The Centre’s ‘Connecting-with-Care Team’ comprises of over 100 volunteers who support services and activities in response to the community’s spiritual care needs. To foster volunteers’ personal growth and development, the Centre offers ongoing training, workshops, seminars, and gatherings.

These earning opportunities equip volunteers with knowledge and skills across multiple domains, enabling them to serve with confidence and compassion while also supporting their own physical and mental well-being.

Training activities include:

  • Understanding individuals with substance abuse
  • Ethics and legal issues surrounding death and dying
  • Between life and death: Who has the final say?
  • Personality Insight workshop
  • Exploring Life and Death workshop
  • Docent visit to Sandy Ridge Cemetery
  • Cognitive accessibility: Communicating with kind, caring words and deep listening
  • “Tsz Shan · Mindful Guide” Advanced docent training
  • Tea meditation training
  • Elderly massage workshop
  • Life confession: Guided reading of the Will workshop
  • “Star Flower” Healing workshop
  • Cognitive accessibility: Communicating with kind, caring words and deep listening (same as above)
